LeadingAge Maryland Member Awards 2024

LeadingAge Maryland invites you to submit nominations for individuals and/or organizations who over the last year have demonstrated exceptional commitment and service to older Marylanders, their teams, and organizations.

The nomination committee will notify all nominators and nominees when award recipients are determined.

Jill Schumann Lifetime Achievement Award
In honor of our founding President and CEO, this award recognizes one LeadingAge Maryland Member, active or retired, who has demonstrated exceptional commitment throughout the tenure of their career in the field of aging services. Their contributions have made a lasting impact. This person is a natural ambassador for their organization, and trusted voice and advocate in the field of aging services.

The Carol Palmer Excellence in Care and Service
This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional proficiency and care in the delivery of quality services. This person reminds us that how we show up in our work is just as important as what we actually do. This award recognizes an individual who – like our first honoree and the awards namesake – helps “nurture a spirit of purpose, wellness and harmony” for their teams and for those they serve.

Excellence in Leadership
This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to building and promoting a sense of community; embracing diversity; promoting mentoring and collaborations; helping advance the field of aging services; and embodying the values and mission of their organization.

Excellence in Innovation
This award recognizes programs or services from a community or organization which go above and beyond normal operations and enhance the field of aging services. This includes programs, services, or initiatives that demonstrate unusual creativity and out-of-the-box thinking to overcome challenges, improving a process, program, or the entire organization.

Heroes in Action
This award recognizes individuals who faces challenges with grace, commitment, and innovation. They are beacons of hope and support to those around them during difficult times, consistently going above and beyond the call of duty in supporting elders and helping to ensure the success of their teams and organizations.
